Chronic Stress Can Lead To Long-term Health Problems...
As women, we carry the weight of the world on our shoulders and it starts when we're young. When we’re little girls, a doll is placed into our hands. From that moment on, we become caretakers of everyone but ourselves. We eventually enter womanhood where we’re slapped with the social construct of being “Superwomen” and instructed to “Lean In” with the hopes and aspirations of having it all!
Mental, physical and emotional burnout!
Have you ever been in burnout mode? I have!
Therefore, the next time you find yourself feeling stressed and in burnout mode, use the following 5 tips! Be a good friend and share these tips with the women you love!
Tip 1: Take vs. Make Time for Yourself
Before making the decision to take care of others, first determine “how” you can “Take” time for yourself. The word "Take" is an action word not a passive word. Therefore, take at least 30 minutes each day to meditate, stretch, exercise and enjoy silence. This will set the tone for your entire day.
Tip 2: Girl, Don’t Buy into The Hype
Social media has a visual influence to convince you that you aren’t enough. This is far from the truth! To limit these feelings, give yourself a designated amount of time to hang out on social media. After that allotted time, log off! Everything that glistens, isn’t always gold!
Tip 3: Learn to Say No!
Learn the power of saying NO! You don’t have to agree to be a part of everything. Although it feels great to be valued and wanted, your self-worth isn’t determined by your willingness to be all things to all people.
Tip 4: Listen to Your Body
When your body tells you to rest and sleep, listen. Sleep and rest are essential to your mental, physical and emotional well-being. Your business and career won’t thrive without proper rest. To reap the benefits of healthy rest, create an atmosphere in your bedroom or office that evokes the feeling of peace. Limit electronics that over stimulate your senses.
Tip 5: Set Boundaries
When you leave work, if possible, don't bring work home with you. Instead, find social and community events that feed your need to be socially well. This will help decrease stress and connect you with activities you enjoy and people you can build lasting relationships with!
Yes, avoiding all stress is impossible, but we want you to you to realize, you're not alone if you find yourself in burnout mode today. Every woman at some point in her life has experienced mental burnout and stress. However, you can limit the amount of stress and burnout in your life by ensuring you use these 5 tips.
